Dr. Meta Broadnax was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Rev. and Mrs. Jerry J. Broadnax, and received her formative education in the Atlanta Public School System. After graduating from Southwest High School, she enrolled at Morris Brown College, concentrating in Business Administration and Music.
Her theological education spans more than two decades of study: a Certificate in Biblical Studies from Beulah Heights Bible College (1994), an Associate's Degree in Biblical Education (1998), and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Education (1999) — the same year she earned a Standard Teacher Diploma from the Evangelical Training Association, graduating Cum Laude as an Honor Student and member of the Beta Eta Beta Kappa Honor Society. In 2004, she graduated with Honors from the Interdenominational Theological Center and Gammon Theological Center with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care, Psychology, and Psychology of Religion, alongside a Certificate of Church Administration and Management. In 2013, she completed her Doctor of Ministry with Honors and is a member of the Theta Phi Honor Society.
Dr. Broadnax's career has paired ministry with social service. She served as Director of the Muriel Lokey Center/Emmaus House for the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, as a Teaching Supervisor in the Contextual Education Program at Emory's Candler School of Theology, and in Clinical Pastoral Education at St. Luke Episcopal Church's Training and Counseling Center. She retired from Grady Health System in January 2008 after 33 years of service. She went on to serve as a Case Manager and later Director of Supportive Housing at MUST Ministries, working with people experiencing homelessness and disability. She currently serves as a Case Manager with Action Ministries, supervising graduate interns from Clark Atlanta University and Kennesaw State University's Master of Social Work programs.
Dr. Broadnax serves as Pastor at St. Katherine's Church of God in Christ. Two of her favorite scriptures guide her ministry: Matthew 19:26 — "with Christ all things are possible" — and Philippians 4:13 — "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
