St. Katherine's is led by a team of pastors committed to scripture, community, and the people in their care.
Pastor Jonathan Griffey
Senior Pastor
Pastor Griffey was born and raised in Decatur, and has been part of St. Katherine's since childhood — serving over the years as Youth Minister, Psalmist, Minister of Music, and Choir Director. Ordained in 2021 by his mother and the church's Founder, the late Overseer Katherine C. Griffey, he stepped into church leadership after her passing in 2025 and was installed as Pastor on February 28, 2026.
Elder Gene Cook
Pastor
Elder Cook has been part of the St. Katherine's family for over thirty years — since the days when it was still the St. Katherine's Prayer Band. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was ordained under the leadership of Overseer Katherine Griffey and now serves as Pastor, overseeing the church's nursing home outreach ministry at Briarwood.
Dr. Meta Broadnax
Pastor
Dr. Broadnax brings decades of theological education and social-service leadership to her role as Pastor. She holds a Doctor of Ministry with Honors and a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center, and her career has spanned Grady Health System, Emory's Candler School of Theology, and Action Ministries — work she carries into her ministry at St. Katherine's.
